Do you always have yourself asking others what anti-virus software you should use? What people recommend are usually based on their own experiences so they are often biased towards only those that they have used. How about reading what unbiased experts say? Wouldn't that be a better alternative?
Before you choose your anti-virus software, it is always a good idea to ask around and read reviews. But as I said, these can be biased towards a certain product. There are however, a few sites that conduct independent tests which are completely unbiased towards any specific product.
http://av-comparatives.org/ (16 products tested)
http://av-test.org/ (30 products tested)
There are lots of others out there that claim they are independent but among all of them, these two have already earned a reputation for being unbiased in their tests.
I myself chose my current anti-virus based on the results of these two sites. And I can definitely say that their tests were not lying. I have been very satisfied with my current anti-virus such that I am contemplating getting the paid version (using free version now). I know that I will be getting my money's worth.
So next time you choose an anti-virus software, check out those sites first and see if what your friends tell you are indeed good (or not) products.

I am in IT field for more than 10 years and have used different AV products. I thought Kaspersky is the best among all the AV products. NAI and Symantec AV Corporate edition are okay but they slow down the system.
Thank you very much for this.
