The LOPTTA initiative, a vital cog in tablenet revival wheel

Having perused the sports item in The Visayan Daily Star, http://www.visayandailystar.com/2008/March/13/sportnews2.htm detailing the efforts of Leonito "Diutay" Lopue of Bacolod City, Philippines to inculcate the love of table tennis to the young, I can't help the stream of memories rushing back to consciousness at our own effort in Iloilo City to help popularize the sport fondly called "pingpong".

However compared to the continued dedication of Diutay Lopue, our effort was merely a drop in the bucket. To be candid, I only read and seen robopongs assisting young and aspiring players to perfect their forehand and backhand drives and other offensive and defensive weapons in their arsenal. To Dr. Lopue, my heartfelt appreciation for your dedication to table tennis. To Waldner of espiya.net, this development augurs well for a resurgence of tablenet in Western Visayas.
