The world loves a hero and despises a heel... yes I know but let's forget momentarily the Filipino's seemingly short memory span. Certainly there are relatively unknowns in our small community who, in their silent way, embodied the virtues of heroism, courage, integrity, and sense of sacrifice. "They" can be your neighbor who ekes out a living, taking care of children not his own but are foundlings and persevered until each one has grown and able to fend on his own.
